Approach this with an open mind and try to forget that three members of this band used to be in Will Haven. Ghostride are an entirely different beast. What we have here is a great rock band, pure and simple. Because I'm lazy, I'm going to describe it as Soundgarden meets Clutch meets Queens of the Stone Age, but it does not merely ape the sound of any of them. There is a distinctive feel to this band and those who try it, will like it.

When I Got this I expected it to be a not so drastic departure from the late great Will Haven who the bassist, drummer and one of the guitarists was in beforehand (Who were also a great band).But when I slapped this on I was very pleasently surprised. It has willhaven elements to it but has also got a mix of Kyuss, Soulfly and Queens of the Stone Age. The standout tracks for me so far are 3 a.m. Cobra, Rotten Pig Iron and Diamondhawk but all the rest (including the Intro and Outro) are great as well. If you liked will haven at all, BUY IT!

Worth the wait!

This is The Blueprint's first album proper, after two mini-albums, which if you picked them up at the time merely served to whet the appetite, but at around 20 mins each were over far too quickly.'Phenomenology' definitely represents a progression on from these releases, maybe due to the departure of Mark Clayden (ex-Pitchshifter), maybe as the band got more familiar with writing with each other, or maybe just as a result of working with a different producer (singer Karl Middleton having worked with Andy Sneap since earthtone 9's first album back in 1998). Unsurprisingly considering its members, it can probably best be described as a mix between earthtone 9 and Consumed, with Consumed's punk sound merging effortlessly with Middleton's standard monumental vocal power, mixing expansive and interesting melodies with his legendary visceral bark.The album can certainly be described as the achievement of the desired 'organic' sound; the album flows effortlessly through its 47 minutes, and like all good albums, you're left wanting more at its completion. Stand out tracks for me would be the title track, 'Over' (particularly its end section) and 'They Will Be Named'. If I have one criticism, it's that the tracks tend to be around the same tempo with a couple of exceptions, and it would be nice to see a few songs at different speeds, such as the exceptional 'Hail Of Splinters' from the 'Ecliptic' mini-album. But overall, I was extremely impressed with the album, it certainly made my top 10 of 2004, which is no mean feat in a year that was a great one for rock music.Well worth picking up.

The saviours of British punk - at last!

This is the long awaited re-release of one of the finest contemporary British punk albums of all time. Originaly released in 1999 "What You Are Like..." has quite rightly been snapped up by Golf Records, repackaged, polished up and released with no less than 4 extra tracks.Mr.Zippy basically play fast, catchy, tunefull "skate" punk, not unlike bands such as Millencolin or New Found Glory but with really, really great TUNES along with fantastic lyrics and excellent dual guitar work. A band that can keep thier songs complex yet insanley catchy. My advice - if you do not own this album, get it!!!!!

Great quality but not for tall people

Under Armour are pretty much one of the field leaders when it comes to base layers and this range is the core of their offering. Good quality stiching/sewing, great wicking ability, fast dring, comfy to wear etc etc... the only thing for me personally being nearly 6ft 4 with a 44 in chest I bought the large size as recommeded by the sizing chart and it fits the torso fine but the arms are a little bit short... so i tug them up to make it like a 3/4 arm length top to stop it looking silly if im running/outdoors etc... if you're 5"10 - 6"2 however this would be perfect

itchy. supposed to be so tight?

The top is quite tight and itchy. I've washed it once and it is still itchy. I think I will get used to it... I wore it out on my bike the other day and came home quite sweaty. I think it's a good top, I'm just not sure about the wicking capability.

Fun for the young golfer

I tried very hard to get this item for Christmas but failed and at the time would have had to pay a large amount for carriage so decided to wait. I was delighted to see that it was now available with no carriage charge and I still couldn't get it in our local stores who are still out of stock in April!

My son's 3rd birthday is in early May and he is a keen little golfer, having a basic set previously, so this will be ideal for him and I know he will love it. I think it will be durable but only time will tell.

It arrived well packaged and quickly, maybe I'll get a little peace whilst he practices, but somehow I doubt it!

Brilliant and well worth the money.

Gator Golf

Great for toddlers

My 2.5 yr old son was given this toy for Christmas and it has been a firm favourite ever since! He literally plays with it every day and is so thrilled when he manages to hit the jackpot and the ball bounces back from the gator's tail. The toy works extremely well with no faults or problems and is an easy take along toy for lunch at grandparents etc. I would definitely buy this for any ball/sports keen 2/3 year old, although think older children may lose interest quickly (my 6 year old nephew was bored by it after 2 minutes). Little ones may require some help with the game as they can get frustrated if they don't manage to hit the jackpot, but it's the perfect game to play with Dad/ any sports keen family member and it's great for developing ball skills (especially for active little ones when the weather is bad). My husband has managed to make the game dual purpose by lying on the floor and using the golf club as a snooker cue. That has gone down extremely well! Absolutely brilliant and I am now buying it as a present for friend's toddlers. I can't recommend this enough!!!

For once, a toy that looks and acts like it does on the advert. We've had lots of fun with this toy, great fun putting a ball and having it flip back off the gator's tail! recommended for young and old to be able to play together

value for children

This toy is fairly durable and a game two children can play together.Good for eye hand coordination,but my grand-children soon tired of it ages 4yrs and 6yrs

Golf can be very strange at times

Golf has a long history dating back many centuries, long before the first British Open in 1860, but the oldest episode covered in this book dates from 1870. Many strange episodes from then until the new millennium are covered, not just from professional events but also from amateur events, as well as a few novelty events. The book also covers milestones in golf history, one of these being the argument over the format of the golfing event within the 1908 Olympics. The upshot of that argument was that there was no golf in the 1908 Olympics. Featured in the 1904 Olympics, golf has been excluded ever since although it may return eventually.

The selection of episodes, as ever in a book of this type, can be argued about. Bernhard Langer's round featuring his climb up a tree does not get a piece of its own, although it is mentioned during the coverage of a different episode. The Ryder Cup has been full of drama since it became Europe versus the USA, but nothing that happened in these events gets its own piece, although Brookline is mentioned in another episode. However, six near misses by Greg Norman each get separate coverage. A different author might have give less coverage to Greg's misfortunes (maybe combining them into one piece) and more to the Ryder Cup, but there have been so many strange golfing stories that some had to be left out. Indeed, the author admits that his book is primarily made up of British and American stories with a few from Australia, simply because of the volume of stories available. He had no need to look elsewhere even though he is confident that he could have found great stories from elsewhere.

The author also explains three different ways to hole in one and not win a hole, one of which caused a rule change. Now there are only two ways. You can't work them out? Buy the book and find out. Occasionally tragic but mostly funny and always entertaining, this is well up to the standard that I expect from this series.

Usually I'm sceptical about compilation books but this was a treasure trove. I'd always thought golf was a simple game - after all the ball is tiny and the holes look quite big to me. But not a bit of it - every combination of balls, clubs and holes are here.

Excellent book. It was funny, and had a great story. Even if you are not a golfer you can enjoy it. If you are a golfer you will enjoy it even more. The group of gods are excellent. I loved the book.

Birdie for the concept, bogie for the delivery

The Gods of Golf is one of those books that almost make it into the realm of classic golf fiction like "Kingdom" or "Bagger Vance". Interesting characters, a great basic premise, yet the authors fall short of making any real conclusions about the link between life and golf that the "classics" tend to make. That link is what draws all avid golfers back to the course for another round of constant abuse and occasional success. Instead, The Gods of Golf comes off like a trip through a teenager's video game -- interesting but forgettable.

If you go into a book expecting to be entertained, you'll thoroughly enjoy this one! If you're a golfer and have ever blamed any on-course problems on the gods of golf, it's a must read. Funny and entertaining, it offers a glimpse into the people golfers love to curse but have to revere. Very entertaining.
